Dusk view of the beach terrace at the Pan Pacific Orchard hotel in Singapore. The beach terrace is a tropical oasis with an organically-shaped emerald lagoon, meandering sandy beachfront and palm groves floating in the open-air, cross-ventilated yet sheltered sky terrace.

The mirrored ceilings reveal the landscape and activities to the street below. The lofty voluminous space functions as giant sunshades to the terrace and rooms, while the reflective ceilings act as thermal mirrors, providing radiant cooling by doubling the surface area of gardens and water.

Pan Pacific Orchard is a vertical oasis in a dense district where concrete, glass and steel dominate the cityscape. It is growing more lush by the day. The design of the hotel allows the city to embrace the building as a vertical garden,showing that the built environment can and must co-exist with nature.

Nighttime view of the Hills and Valleys Skyscraper next to its neighbours in #shenzhen.

The design of this building brings sky rise greenery into the densely populated city with its 12 protruding “knolls”.

The silhouette of the knolls, outlined by plants during the day and lighting by night, extrude out - almost floating on the sides of the building.

Inspired by the natural landscape and mountain Parks of Shenzhen, they will introduce rich amenities and landscape into the skyscraper at a “human scale” that celebrates nature.
